John R. Grant

John R. Grant serves as Division President, Ophthalmology for AMSURG, responsible for the profitability and growth of 37 ophthalmology ambulatory surgery centers, all members of OOSS, which generate $125 million in net revenue.

John leads AMSURG’s dedicated ophthalmology team, which provides multi-disciplinary support for those centers through a team of 20 professionals with expertise in operations, finance, contracting, clinical, materials management, marketing, strategic planning and revenue cycle management. In addition to the 37 single specialty centers, John’s team provides support for 20 multi-specialty centers that offer ophthalmic surgery. As the leader in cataract surgery, AMSURG centers perform over 125,000 cataract procedures as well as many other ophthalmic procedures.

Over 25 years John has gained broad experience in the health care industry, ranging from hospital CEO to managing physician practices and a variety of outpatient services. After doing his undergraduate work at the University of Georgia, John earned a Masters of Health Administration (MHA) and a Masters of Business Administration from Georgia State University.
