David George, MD

David George, M.D. graduated from Ohio State University with distinction. He completed medical school at the Ohio State University College of Medicine, completed his internship at Riverside Hospital and his residency in eye surgery at The Ohio State University. Dr. George is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery, He is a member of the board of directors for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA) and completed two terms on the Board of the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society (OOSS) before assuming the duties of Secretary and member of the Executive Committee.

His special interests include refractive surgery (LASIK and PRK), cataract surgery (including Advanced Technology presbyopia-correcting implants), glaucoma and diabetic eye care. Dr. George began doing refractive surgery in 1999 and has recently introduced the option of wavefront technology for patients in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Dr. George has both VISX Star S4 and VISX CustomVue Laser Certifications for Laser Vision Correction.

Dr. George organizes surgical missions and has traveled to impoverished countries many times to perform eye surgery. On these missions, he and his staff volunteer their time to provide sight for the poor and blind, as well as help educate local doctors.
