Biden Administration COVID-19 Six-Point Plan Will Likely Affect Ophthalmic ASCs
The Biden Administration has announced a 6-prong national strategy aimed at combating COVID-19 by requiring vaccinations for all federal workers and healthcare workers receiving payments from Medicare and Medicaid. The requirement applies to all staff – clinical, non-patient facing, volunteers and third-party contractors. An interim final rule with comment period is expected in October.
The announcement also includes a vaccine requirement to all employers with 100+ employees. Issued through OSHA, the mandate requires employers with more than 100 employees to be vaccinated or provide a negative test result on a weekly basis. To view the official mandate, click here.
