Who We Are

The Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society has grown up with, advocated for, and provided critical advocacy, network, and educational support for the entire ophthalmic ASC community. We work to ensure top-quality patient care and safety in an environment of ever-changing technology and regulation.

What We Do

We support continuing education and research, and represent the ophthalmic ASC industry in Washington, D.C. We strive to ensure that all ophthalmic services are eligible for Medicare facility reimbursement, that industry regulations are well-informed and effective, and that facility fees are reasonable and equitable.

Why You Should Join

When you belong to OOSS, you engage your entire ASC facility team. OOSS member benefits derive from the core advocacy mission of OOSS – articulating and representing the interests and contributions of the ophthalmic ASC community while providing meaningful and relevant information and resources.

Celebrating 40 years of OOSS

In 2022, OOSS celebrated its 40th anniversary with gratitude for its members and industry partners. Together, we have advocated for the provision of safe, effective ophthalmic surgeries in physician-owned ASCs.

Our Member Centers and Teams

OOSS Members Map

Our member centers and the teams they represent reside in the US. They come in all business forms: single-owner, practice-aligned, free-standing, multi-owner, and multi-practice ASCs. Most are ophthalmic-only, although a growing number of multi-specialty centers have joined OOSS. Through surveys, members tell us that they value the advocacy, information, education, and intelligence they gain through affiliation with OOSS. They also appreciate the highly personal and virtual qualities of OOSS that enable them to get answers or share input via the website, email, or a simple phone call.
