OOSS conducts annual benchmarking and periodic industry and topical studies to provide ophthalmic ASC teams with powerful information and tools to sustain continuous improvement, navigate changes in the health care environment and to stay competitive. Available to OOSS members and members of affiliated industry organization like AAO/AAOE, OOSS studies provide fact-based guidance and insight to address facility quality and efficiency as well as topical areas of interest to OOSS members. Occasionally studies are opened to non-members to expand the base of informative data as a benefit to OOSS members and the ophthalmic ASC industry.
The OOSS Benchmarking Initiative is the only annual survey designed exclusively for the ophthalmic ASC. The program is currently open to all single specialty ophthalmic ASCs and multispecialty facilities with a substantial commitment to ophthalmology. Over 190 facilities participated in 2011 providing valid and reliable comparative data across a number of business and clinical measures. Facilities utilize their annual benchmarking results to address quality management, performance improvement, accreditation and certification.
The 2011 benchmarking survey capturing 2010 year-end results launched May 23rd and will remain open through January 2012. Interested and qualified facilities are welcome to register by sending an email to Dr. Kent Jackson, OOSS VP, Member Research & Development at kjackson@ooss.org or by calling 303.910.7314. Be sure to provide the official facility name along with the name, title, telephone number and email address of the person to receive the survey invitation.
